What it costs
What does an $895 CAD website include, and what does it not?
An $895 CAD website buys hand-coded pages, a booking or quote form, and approval before launch. Here is what the $20 CAD a month covers and what costs extra.
From $895 CAD, we design and hand-code a website for your business. It comes with a booking or quote form wired to your inbox, and English and French in one build. You approve the finished site before it goes live.
Hosting, security, daily backups, and unlimited changes sit in a separate $20 CAD a month that starts 30 days after payment. The domain name, store checkout, Google Business Profile management (our SEO/AEO Management add-on), and a phone agent cost extra.
This article lists both sides, line by line, so you can hold any quote against it. For the wider price picture, start with how much a website costs in Canada in 2026. Our prices are the same numbers in USD for US businesses.
The short version
- The growth site, from $895 CAD one time: hand-coded pages, a booking or quote flow, English and French, and your approval before launch.
- $20 CAD a month, starting 30 days after payment, covers hosting, security, daily backups, and unlimited changes in 24 to 48 hours.
- Not included: your domain name (a .ca is $23 CAD a year at Webnames.ca), store checkout, Google Business Profile management, and a phone agent that calls leads back.
- A real first year runs about $1,158 CAD before tax: $895 CAD, 12 months of hosting, and a .ca domain.
- Everything paid is refundable until you approve the finished site.
What the $895 CAD build includes
The $895 CAD price covers the build itself: design, code, the forms that bring in work, and a second language. Here is each line, drawn from our websites page and its answers on timing and ownership.
| What you get | What it means in practice |
|---|---|
| Hand-coded pages, designed for your business | No template, no page builder, no theme shared with other sites |
| English and Québec French in one build | Both languages with a working toggle, not a translation added at the end |
| A booking or quote flow wired to your inbox | Requests land in your email, with the questions you choose |
| Your approval before launch | Nothing goes live until you say yes |
| A 2 to 3 week build | The usual timeline once your photos and service details are in |
| Ownership | The code and the content are yours once the site is paid in full; the domain is registered in your name from day one |
The $895 CAD is a starting point. The exact figure is set by scope and confirmed in your signed Website Development Agreement before work begins.
A redesign costs the same as a new build. We move your content over, keep what works, and fix what costs you customers.
What the $20 CAD a month covers
The $20 CAD a month keeps the site online, safe, and current. It starts 30 days after your payment, and there is no separate maintenance retainer on top of it.
- Hosting and the SSL certificate, which puts the https in your address.
- Security and daily backups, with same-day fixes when something breaks.
- Unlimited content changes at a 24 to 48 hour pace: new hours, prices, or photos.
- An automatic Google review engine, with your replies drafted for you.
- Monthly Google and AI visibility checks, with a plain-English scoreboard.
- A person who answers.
Customers read reviews: just 4% of US consumers say they never do (BrightLocal, January 2025).
Speed depends on how the site is built and hosted. Google's target is for the main content of a page to load within 2.5 seconds (Google Search Central, retrieved 2026-09-17). Ask any builder which number their sites hit on a phone.
What the $895 CAD build does not include
4 things cost extra, plus sales tax. Each one is priced below.
| Not included | Where it comes from | What it costs |
|---|---|---|
| Your domain name | A registrar, in your own name | $23 CAD a year for a .ca at Webnames.ca; $11.08 USD a year for a .com at Porkbun, retrieved 2026-09-17 |
| An online store with real checkout | Our e-commerce build | $1,795 CAD one time, plus $40 CAD a month |
| Google Business Profile management | SEO/AEO Management add-on | $79 CAD a month, no commitment |
| A phone agent that calls leads back | Speed to Lead Agent | $2,000 CAD a month from go-live, plus a $3,000 CAD build fee |
| Sales tax | Your province or state | Added to every price above |
The domain is the one thing you buy yourself. You buy and renew it directly with a registrar, so the address stays yours whoever hosts the site. Our hosting fee covers pointing the domain at your site, not buying it.
The Speed to Lead Agent build fee can be waived by paying $6,000 CAD up front for the first 3 months. It runs month to month, whether we built your site or not.

Do you need the $1,795 CAD online store instead?
Only if customers pay you on the site. The $895 CAD growth site books work and collects quote requests. It does not take payment for products.
Most businesses do not take orders online. In 2023, 32% of Canadian businesses reported receiving e-commerce orders (Statistics Canada, September 2024). A plumber, a clinic, or a courier usually sells the visit, not a cart.
The store build adds real checkout, taxes and shipping rules, and product, collection, and search pages. Its monthly fee is $40 CAD instead of $20 CAD.
A platform plan like Shopify Basic is $37 CAD a month billed yearly, or $49 CAD billed monthly (Shopify, retrieved 2026-09-17). That fee buys the platform, not the design, the product setup, or the hours to build it.
What you still have to bring
Building the site is our job; the facts about your business come from you. Projects that finish in 2 to 3 weeks start with 3 things ready:
- Your logo and real job photos, 10 or more if you have them.
- Your service list, with hours, service areas, and prices or ranges.
- Access to your domain at the registrar, or a decision on which name to buy.
That list is short on purpose. Time is the scarce resource for most owners:
66% of Canadian small business owners say "the lack of time is their greatest obstacle" to a digital presence (CFIB, December 2025).
The same survey found 78% already have a company website. The question for most owners is not whether to have one, but who keeps it working.
Who owns the site once you pay?
You do. On final payment, the code and the content are yours, including the files and the assets built for the job. The domain was yours from the start.
If you ever leave, the site stops being hosted by us. You take a complete copy with you, or access to the repository where it lives. Before final payment, the work is still ours, which is standard. The details are in who owns the site and what happens if you stop paying.

Ask every builder 1 question before the deposit. When the invoice is paid, do I own the code, and can I take it elsewhere? If the answer does not fit in 1 sentence, keep looking.
How to check any $895 CAD website quote
A low price is only low if the missing lines are named. Run any quote, ours included, through these 5 checks:
- Page by page: what pages, what forms, and what launch date?
- Monthly fee: what exactly does it cover, and when does it start?
- Domain: is it registered in your name, at your registrar?
- Changes: how fast, and do they cost extra after launch?
- Approval and refund: can you see the finished site before paying in full?
On ours, the last answer is yes. You approve the finished site before it goes live, and everything paid is fully refundable up to that approval.
If a lump sum is the obstacle, the same build runs from $99 CAD a month on a 12-month term, hosting included. The math on both is in monthly website plan or one-time payment.
Frequently asked questions
Is hosting included in an $895 CAD website?
No, hosting is billed separately at $20 CAD a month, starting 30 days after payment. That fee covers hosting, the SSL certificate, security, daily backups, unlimited changes in 24 to 48 hours, and a person who answers. On the $99 CAD a month plan, hosting is already inside the monthly price.
Does an $895 CAD website include a domain name?
No. You register the domain yourself, in your business's name, so it stays yours if you ever change providers. A .ca costs $23 CAD a year at Webnames.ca, and a .com costs $11.08 USD a year at Porkbun, both retrieved 2026-09-17. We connect the domain to your site as part of hosting.
Does the build include SEO?
The build itself does not, but the $20 CAD monthly fee includes monthly Google and AI visibility checks with a plain-English scoreboard. Active Google Business Profile management and live performance metrics are the SEO/AEO Management add-on, $79 CAD a month with no commitment. No one can honestly promise a ranking position, and we do not.
How long does the build take?
Most builds go live in 2 to 3 weeks once your logo, photos, and service details are ready. You see and approve the finished site before it is published. Content arriving late is the most common reason a small business website takes longer than planned.
Is a website redesign cheaper than a new $895 CAD build?
No, a redesign costs the same as a new build, from $895 CAD. The design, the code, and the pages are still rebuilt one by one. What you save is time: your services, photos, and wording already exist, so the project usually starts faster.
Which option fits your business?
If your business sells services and takes bookings or quote requests, the $895 CAD growth site covers it. Budget about $1,158 CAD for the first year with hosting and a .ca domain, plus tax. If customers pay online, price the $1,795 CAD store instead.
